Insight   

Playing it safe suckers us into selling ourselves short. If you're holding back to avoid anything getting broken, don't expect to experience a break through.  Risk doesn't ensure reward. But refusing to take chances is a recipe for stagnation.  Our brains benefit from taking initiative. And even when things backfire, there's nothing like a fiasco to focus our attention and force us to think fast on our feet.  To tweak the old truism- If necessity is the mother of invention... failure is the father!  When fallibility strikes, innovators break the mold (and in Alexander Fleming's case turn moldy bread into the miraculous medicine, Penicillin). History is full of such happy accidents. Fate may be fickle, but it favors exploration- and shows a decided fondness for the daring over the timid.

Today, I am pushing the edge, confident that even if I flop, failure will prove good fertilizer for future ingenuity.
