"Why me? assumes I should be exempt from life's misfortunes. Why not me? is a more humble question that invites us to deal with difficult times in a way that helps us become stronger"
Dr. Terry Paulson, The Optimism Advantage
Crisis molds character. The effect catastrophe has on our core identity either confines us... or refines us. Pessimism predisposes people to feel persecuted, and is a recipe for resentment and resignation. Optimism makes a person more prone to be proactive, and paves the way for resilience and resourcefulness. (Plus optimists are a lot more fun at a party!)
Intent (memo to self)
Today, I am stalwartly seeking the bright side, dealing with disappointment by digging deeper... discovering hidden gifts, and turning pits... into seeds!
